with private pool in Tamariu, Costa Brava, Spain.
There is even more to tell. Ask us…
Food and drinks
The beach and bay are within a 10 minute walk down (back up is more difficult be aware). Tamariu has enough restaurants where you can have lunch or dinner. In summer we like to have late night dinners at the bay where there sometimes is some live music. In spring and autumn we like having long lunches at the beach just as the Spanish do.
There is a fully equipped kitchen in Villa Feliz and a bbq. But if you like to go out we can recommend La Morena down at the beach. Or La Pizetta in Begur (good food and you can sit in the garden, please note that they are not open every day even if they say so on the website).
We also like the pizza’s from L’arc in Palafrugell or have a drink at the centra Fraternal in Palafrugell a place where the old Spanish people come to play cards or chess.
In Calella I can strongly recomend to have tapas at Bar Calau (it can be busy but it is worth the wait) or lunch or dinner at Tragamar. Good food and wonderful sea view.
And if you like sushi you can have some at the Lighthouse (Far San Sebastien) in Llafranc at Farnomo.
In august it can be crowded during the day on the beach, even more so on the weekends because the people of Barcelona also like Tamariu!
Tamariu itself has a small but sheltered bay. The beach at LLafranc is even more beautiful and slightly wider. Especially suited for kids with nice sand and it slopes gently into the sea. But the one we like the most during peak season is found at La Castell. You should try it!
Hikes and culture
There is plenty to do and see in the area. There are several coastal walks.
If you go up the stairs next to the beach of Llafranc you can follow the path along the sea to Callela. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk (very easy) you will have a beautiful view and Callela is voted in the top ten best coastal towns of Spain.
There are plenty restaurants where you can have a drink before you go back.
Cap Roig, the botanical gardens in Callela are also worth a visit.
There is also a coastal path that starts at the Tamariu beach. This one is partly climbing over rocks so a little bit more difficult but also very much worth it. You can walk all the way to Llafranc (which will take several hours) or walk to Calla Pedrosa a tiny hidden bay with a small restaurant (only open in the high season).
If you go north you can visit Begur with it’s nice shops, restaurants and old castle on top of the hill. Or the beaches of Sa Riera and Sa Tuna.
And of course you can visit Barcelona, Girona (with the old Jewesh quarter) or Figueres with the Dali museum.
And there are two waterparks. One is only 15 minutes away in Platja D‘Aro and the other one a little bit further in Lloret de Mar. They both have a lot of slides but the one in Plata D’Aro is a little bit more family friendly. The other one can be crowded with youngster during summer.

Fantastic house and area, both above expectations. We highly recommend the place for families. Nice and safe surroundings, all very suitable for kids. We would like to come back some day 😊
We absolutely loved our stay at Polly's villa. The house is very comfortable and luminous and the outdoor area/pool was a perfect lounge area for us! Polly was also very helpful with questions we had and recommendations.
Great open space to use! 5 minute drive down to Tamariu beach, fully equipped kitchen, great shower and lovely pool array! We would love to come back!
What can we say, great host, great house and a great location. Our family (2 small children) really enjoyed our stay in Polly's summer house. Located perfectly. There are many beautiful small villages/towns situated just some 10-15 min each direction of Tamariu.
A home in the sunshine. Really secluded garden and very pleasant relaxing by the pool. Once in the car there are many great beaches to choose from within just a few miles. Equally a surprisingly wide variety of restaurants to be found within the same radius. Polly was very quick to respond to any queries. We had an excellent holiday
Villa Feliz is located in a really lovely part of Tamariu, that is a short drive away from some of the best beaches in the area. The villa feels incredibly private. The pool is a great way to cool off if you’ve decided to walk up the hill from the centre of Tamariu in the middle of summer. Polly is really helpful and super responsive.
